CDL Class A Course
Full and part-time training courses are available. Courses include classroom training, one-on-one in truck training, yard training and observation, skid control and accident avoidance course and border crossing training. Some of the topics taken in class are: defensive driving, smart driver, load distribution, preventative maintenance, dangerous goods, log books and more. All training is taught by experienced, qualified instructors who have experienced the challenges you may encounter as a new driver.

Our courses are tailored to the individual's needs. We work with various motor carriers to ensure that we are training our entry level drivers to meet and surpass the industry's standards. These same carriers recruit drivers from our school.

What You Will Learn From This CDL Training Program.

The truck driver training program begins with your DOT physical, DOT drug screen and CDL permit testing. Then, for the first two weeks, your training will include a mixture of classroom, extensive pre-trip practice and range work, including things like backing-up exercises, etc. For your final week, training will include a mixture of street and range training. To graduate, you'll need to pass both a final road test and the CDL skills test.

Your classroom time will cover:

Proper logging routines
Trip planning
Map reading
Hazardous materials regulations
Accident prevention
Defensive driving techniques
Safety and mechanical issues

Your behind-the-wheel time will let you practice techniques you learned in the classroom and more:
Driving range and street exercises
Shifting techniques
Backing and turning
Proper pre-trip inspections
Accident prevention
A big emphasis is placed on the skills needed to pass the CDL skills test, which you'll take at the end of your training.
